# Where does the name StackinSat come from?

The English verb **"to stack"** means **to pile up**, but it also means **to accumulate or store**.

**Stackin'** is a contraction of **"Stacking"**, which refers to the act of accumulating, amassing, and storing.

**Sat** is short for **Satoshi**, which is not only the pseudonym of **Bitcoin’s creator(s)** but also **the smallest unit of Bitcoin’s monetary system**.

## 1 Bitcoin = 100 million Satoshis

The **Bitcoin investment community** understands that the best way to build a Bitcoin reserve is to **gradually accumulate Satoshis**, with the goal of potentially reaching **100 million Satoshis to own a full Bitcoin** one day.

Since there will never be **more than 21 million Bitcoins**, **only 21 million people could ever own a full Bitcoin**.

The **Bitcoin community** helped popularize the term **#StackSats**, which encourages people to **accumulate Satoshis regularly**.

📌 **The name StackinSat refers to the action of gradually accumulating Satoshis over time.**
