What is a wallet or portfolio (personal safe) and how to choose it?

A wallet (portfolio in French) or personal safe is a tool that allows you to receive, send and secure your bitcoins and can come in several forms. A simple piece of paper, an application for your smart phone or tablet, software for your computer or even a computer peripheral similar to a usb key.

Before going into more detail about the different types of existing personal safes or wallets, and their use, let's take a moment to clarify some important concepts, which should make it easier to understand this essential tool for securing and using your bitcoins.

A personal vault or wallet doesn't actually hold your bitcoins, just the information that helps control the bitcoins assigned to you. This is because bitcoins only exist in the distributed ledger on all computers in the bitcoin network.

You have to see this distributed ledger as a large duplicate account book updated simultaneously on a multitude of computers (the nodes of the Bitcoin network). This account book is public and can be freely consulted by all.

The content of this account book is very basic, it contains a list of addresses.

Your personal safe or wallet allows you to interact with this distributed ledger, (by offering to modify the entries in the ledger.) If you want to receive bitcoins, your personal safe or wallet will generate a receive address. This receiving address will be listed in the distributed public ledger as soon as someone has made a transaction to give you some satoshis on this address.

How to create my account and start my BSP

To open your Bitcoin Savings Plan ("BSP"), you simply need to fill out the form and configure your BSP by clicking here: Create a StackinSat account.

When you go to configure your StackinSat account you will need:

Configure your amount and the frequency of your payments (Weekly/monthly)

Complete the KYC form

Enter the Bitcoin reception address via your personal safe (wallet or wallet) OR simply choose the StackinSat Vault (conversations and securing your bitcoins by us).

Start of payments, configuration of bank transfer

To start your BSP, you simply need to:

Set up a recurring SEPA bank transfer via your customer area (operations) then, from your bank's website (an email has been sent to you on this subject 💌):

Add StackinSat as recipient of a SEPA transfer (our RIB is available in your dashboard by clicking on info.bancaires.)

Indicate the amount and frequency you have chosen

VERY IMPORTANT: Add the unique tracking code that was sent to you by email and at the end of the creation of your BSP in all the available fields of the bank transfer.

🚨 Please note, once you have made your transfer, there is an interbank delay of approximately 2 working days ⏲️ before we receive the money. You will be notified by email with an invoice confirming receipt of the transfer.

Can I close my Bitcoin Savings Plan?

If you wish to close your BSP and no longer benefit from StackinSat's services, please first follow the procedure to suspend your Bitcoin Savings Plan from your StackinSat Dashboard.

You will then have to send a message via the chat requesting the deletion of your account to customer service from the email address you provided when creating your account.

My bank does not offer weekly transfers, what solution is possible?

StackinSat cannot store Euros on your behalf.

As soon as we receive your money we must convert it into bitcoin and send it to your receiving address indicated on your Bitcoin Savings Plan.

If you want to invest weekly in Bitcoin and your bank does not give you the possibility of making a weekly transfer, here are the ideas that will allow you to set up the weekly transfer: • Set up 4 monthly installments: the 1st, 7th, 14th and 21st of each month • Set up the weekly transfer by going to your bank's counter. The operation is sometimes chargeable. • Or change banks by favoring online banks or neo-banks!
